• Pick an ideal listing date – this will help create a timeline to address fixes/updates in the home.
  • Address Repairs – Leaky faucets, repairing a broken fence, patching hole in the wall… anything that helps enhance the home.
  • Declutter & Donate – decluttering now will save you from the last minute scramble of getting rid of stuff before listing.  Donate or purge anything you no longer need.  You may even consider renting storage space to set aside things you won’t need until after the move.
  • Paint – consider painting rooms that need painting.  Faded paint, bright colors, or marked up walls should be addressed with neutral colors.  Paint freshens a home up and presents well.  Only paint if necessary.  This is something I would assess once I can visit your home.
  • Carpet – consider having carpets cleaned as opposed to being replaced  This will enhance the overall feel of the home and help you sell the property faster, for top dollar.
  • Stage the Home – Pack up lesser used items, move excess things to a storage unit.  Removing unnecessary furniture and household items makes the house look bigger.
  • Curb Appeal – having the grass cut, addressing landscaping, pruning trees and power washing will create attractive curb appeal.
